This year has been a monumental one for WWE, given that it kicked off with the company's huge deal with Netflix. It has also seen the rise of some of the promotion's stars, such as Jade Cargill, Bron Breakker, Stephanie Vaquer, and Roxanne Perez.
Despite having an excellent year, none of them come close to what Dominik Mysterio has achieved in 2025, which is why he is Bill Apter's WWE Wrestler of the Year. The Latino Cheat won his first singles title on the main roster this year, becoming the Intercontinental Champion at WrestleMania 41, and has held the title till now, by any means necessary.
Speaking on the latest episode of UnSKripted on Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, Apter remembered being asked by someone to name his Wrestler of the Year. After careful consideration, he picked the younger Mysterio as he felt that no one in the promotion had elevated themselves as much as Dominik this year.
"Somebody asked me last week if I had to give someone a wrestler of the year award today, who would it be? And it took me a while to think. I was trying to think of the roster of WWE years ago, I could've named 20 people, and now I'm like it's more the brand than it is the brand workers. No one in WWE has elevated himself professionally like they've elevated Dominik Mysterio, and he would actually be my choice today." Apter said.Did The Rock's "Final Boss" run hurt WWE? Watch Here!
Ever since winning the Intercontinental Championship, Dominik's stock in the company has continued to grow. He even added a world championship to his list of accolades a few months later, as he defeated El Hijo del Vikingo to become the AAA Mega Champion at World's Collide in September.
