The Miami Dolphins have made a few interesting roster moves this offseason to add to their roster in the middle of a major roster reset.
Despite over $100 million in dead cap hits from cutting Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill, Bradley Chubb, and others, the Dolphins still added Malik Willis on a $67.5 million deal to be their new quarterback.
With a need to add more offensive firepower for Willis, Jordan Dajani of CBS Sports named the Dolphins as the "perfect" landing spot for Cleveland Browns Pro Bowl tight end David Njoku in free agency.
Dolphins 'perfect' landing spot for David Njoku
"The Miami Dolphins offense is going to look very different with AMlik Willis replacing Tua Tagovailoa, and Njoku would provide a versatile security blanket for a young quarterback who is getting his first shot to be a full-time starter," Dajani writes.
With limited cap space to work with, the Dolphins need cheap free agent options to bolster the offense for Willis. Fortunately, Njoku is not going to cost too much for Miami.
He's 30 years old, and while he's a former Pro Bowler, he's a tight end who has missed a lot of time the last two years. He played in 12 games in 2025 and 11 in 2024.
An older tight end who is coming off one of the worst years of his career, with 293 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 33 receptions, won't be expensive.

Dallas Goedert from the Philadelphia Eagles signed for $7 million for one year. If that's the deal he got, the Dolphins should be able to give Njoku a similar contract for one season.
With De'Von Achane, Jaylen Waddle, Jalen Tolbert, Tutu Atwell, Malik Washington, and Greg Dulcich, the Dolphins desperately need more offensive firepower for Willis.
There are a few interesting options, but especially at tight end, the Dolphins need to land a true starter who's more than just a receiving threat like Dulcich.
Njoku, a Pro Bowler who has 4,062 receiving yards in his nine-year NFL career, would be a perfect free agent option for the Dolphins to give Willis a cheap security blanket who's had to catch passes from iffy quarterbacks in Cleveland for almost a decade.
