The Miami Dolphins suffered a demoralizing loss to the lowly Cleveland Browns on Sunday, dropping their record to 1-6 on the season.
Not only did Miami suffer defeat, but they also lost a key player during the contest, with Darren Waller exiting the game early with injury.
At first, Waller's injury was thought to be major with the 33-year-old feared to miss the rest of the season. But recent reporting provided a positive update for the former Las Vegas Raider.
Darren Waller recieves positive injury update
ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that Waller's injury isn't season ending, luckily for the Dolphins.
"Tests showed that Dolphins TE Darren Waller has a strained pectoral that is not expected to require surgery, per source. He will be considered 'week to week at this point,'" Schefter wrote in a post on X.
Surgery would have certainly knocked Waller out for the season, and with all of Miami's other injuries they deperately need him going forward.
Tyreek Hill is out for the season with the leg injury he suffered in Week 4 against the New York Jets, and Waller has turned out to be a key piece for the Dolphins offense since surprisingly unretiring this past offseason.
In four games played this season, the former New York Giant has caught 10 balls for 117 yards and four touchdowns, proving himself as Miami's primary red zone threat.
If the Fins want to turn their season around, its going to need all hands on deck, including Waller's, to turn the ship around.
