The Miami Dolphins are one of the more obvious rebuilding teams in the NFL right now, as their massive roster overhaul has dramatically reduced the talent level on the roster.
But that doesn't mean there aren't still key players on the team. De'Von Achane and Aaron Brewer got long-term contract extensions recently, and the Dolphins might not be done.
According to ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques, the Dolphins are reportedly likely to come to an agreement with All-Pro linebacker Jordyn Brooks on a long-term deal.
Dolphins likely to extend Jordyn Brooks
"Despite the massive roster churn over the past several months and the fact that the team drafted a pair of off-ball linebackers, it's likely Miami reaches an agreement with the NFL's leading tackler from last season," Louis-Jacques writes.
This is some very positive news for the Dolphins, as Brooks looks more likely to stay in Miami long-term rather than be traded like Jaylen Waddle.
It wouldn't be a total shocker if Brooks were traded, but this update from Louis-Jacques makes it seem like the Dolphins would prefer to come to terms on a long-term deal with the All-Pro linebacker.

The 28-year-old linebacker had the best season of his career in 2025, posting 183 tackles with 99 solo, 3.5 sacks, three passes defended, one forced fumble, 13 tackles for loss, and four quarterback hits in a first-team All-Pro season.
Miami is not going to compete this season, but a rebuild might go quicker than expected, and having Brooks as a key member of this defense would be nice.
An extension with the All-Pro former Seattle Seahawks first-rounder is looking likely, as Brooks might be in Miami for a while longer.
