@AdamSchefter @aadelsonESPN Yeah, cuz dude didn't want to get Shedeur'ed in April.

"Dodging the Browns and Shedookie! Nice job Arch!" another fan wrote. "Don’t want to be drafted by Raiders, Jets oe Browns! 🤭😂🤣😜" a fan said.

Here are more fan reactions.

"He saw how bad the teams in the NFL were," a fan commented. "He really didn't like New York," one fan tweeted. "Well look at the bright side, that's one less bust quarterback the Jets can draft," another fan said.

The decision came after Manning's first season as Texas' starting quarterback. He completed 61% of his passes for 2,942 yards, 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions. The Longhorns (9-3, 6-2 Southeastern Conference) finished fifth in the SEC.

Texas HC Steve Sarkisian on Arch Manning skipping the 2026 NFL draft

Texas Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian shared his feelings about Arch Manning's decision to stay with the program for another year.

"He's a young man who's gotten better as the season's gone on, and not only physically, but mentally, maturity-wise," Sarkisian said on Monday, via ESPN. "I would think he's going to want another year of that growth to put himself in position for hopefully a long career in the NFL."

Sarkisian added that Manning has some unfinished business to take care of before entering the NFL. He was happy with the season with Manning as the QB1 but felt they could have been the SEC and national champions.

Manning was impressive in the latter half of the season, posting a 6-1 record. He threw only two interceptions over that span.

The Longhorns will take on the Michigan Wolverines in the Citrus Bowl on Dec. 31. The game will be held at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, with kickoff scheduled at 3 p.m. ET.
