Dodgers' manager Dave Roberts breaks down Shohei Ohtani's 'bad' plate decisions

The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday to advance to the NLCS. They were able to win via a walk-off thanks to Philadelphia Phillies Orion Kerkering's fielding error with the bases loaded with two outs.

The Blue Crew was able to advance without much offense from Shohei Ohtani. He struggled, especially against LHPs, mustering up only one hit throughout the four-game series.

This is far from the performance fans were hoping for, and Ohtani will look to get out of this slump in the NLCS. Luckily for him, he and the Dodgers have a few days off while waiting for the Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers to finish their series.

Shohei Ohtani finished the NLDS going 1-for-18 with two walks. He has looked like a shell of himself at the plate, and manager Dave Roberts goes into detail on what he has seen from his superstar, via Dodgers Nation.

"I just think that his plate, his decision-making hasn't been good," said Roberts. "You can see, it's balls in/off, and he's really not giving himself a chance to hit a mistake. I just think that he's in between a little bit, but the swing decisions are just not where they need to be right now. That's kind of what I see, decision-making."

Roberts wants to see better decision-making at the plate for Ohtani. He has not been able to put himself in a good spot to hunt a mistake, and that must change if Ohtani wants to get out of this slump.
