Dodgers' Dave Roberts gives four-word final verdict on White House visit

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts was asked again on Wednesday about the Los Angeles Dodgers going to the White House to celebrate as World Series champions.

The Dodgers visit the Washington Nationals for a series beginning April 7, so their visit is slated for less than a week from Roberts' latest comments.

Roberts wanted to make one thing clear, saying that this situation is "not a political thing."

The skipper continued: "I'm not going to sit up here and make it political... We're looking forward to celebrating our championship team."

Shohei Ohtani has already said publicly that he would be attending. Mookie Betts implied to reporters earlier this week that he'd made a decision but wasn't going to share it yet.

Roberts added Wednesday that the "whole organization" decided they would go to the White House, and he was supportive of that.

Whether any players stay away remains to be seen, but all told, the Dodgers are on board to visit President Donald Trump, and Roberts just wants it to be seen as a celebration of their ballclub.
