The Los Angeles Dodgers have a ton of injuries to pitchers so far this season. Yet, somehow, LA is 21-10 entering Thursday and has a lead in the National League West over the San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres.
Blake Snell is on the IL, Clayton Kershaw is getting closer to return, and Shohei Ohtani's LA pitching debut continues to get prolonged.
On Thursday, the Dodgers added a pair of pitchers in a flurry of roster moves, per the team's official X account.
"The Dodgers claimed RHP J.P. Feyereisen off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks and acquired RHP Ryan Loutos from the St. Louis Cardinals for cash considerations. In order to make room on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers transferred RHPs Michael Kopech and Blake Treinen to the 60-day injured list."
Feyereisen was a 16th-round pick in the 2014 MLB Draft. He spent time with each of the Milwaukee Brewers, Tampa Bay Rays, and Arizona Diamondbacks. He also made 10 appearances for the Dodgers in 2024, throwing just 11 innings while recording a rough 8.18 ERA.
This year, Feyereisen pitched just two innings for Arizona with the last one coming on April 24, when he gave up two earned runs.
Loutos is a long-time minor leaguer who made three brief appearances for the Cardinals in 2024, throwing just 2.1 innings but giving up just two hits.
In turn, the Dodgers moved Blake Treinen and Michael Kopech to the 60-day IL.
