Dodgers announce exciting Tyler Glasnow news for Braves matchup

The Los Angeles Dodgers have dealt with a plethora of injuries to their big league roster this season, a lot of which have been in the starting rotation.

Shohei Ohtani is still sidelined due to an injury, though he might come back soon. But in the meantime, the Dodgers have just gotten back a very key starting pitcher for their Tuesday night matchup against the Atlanta Braves.

As the Dodgers announced Tuesday afternoon, Tyler Glasnow was activated off the injured list from his rehab assignment and will start Tuesday's series opener against the Braves.

"The Dodgers have activated RHP Tyler Glasnow from the injured list and optioned RHP Paul Gervase," the Dodgers announced.

Glasnow will now slide into the starting role for Tuesday night's matchup against the Braves, as the Dodgers try to further build up their lead for one of the byes in the NL postseason field.

Getting Glasnow back in the rotation is a huge plus for the Dodgers, as he's now going to bolster a rotation that needed a bit more help despite having a stacked depth chart.

This season, before landing on the injured list, Glasnow had a 2.72 ERA with 49 strikeouts and a 3-0 record in seven starts.

His most recent outing was a one-inning, one-run no-decision against the Houston Astros, where he sustained his back injury.

But now, he's back in the big leagues a few months later and will face a Braves team struggling to stay ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies, who are hot on their trail.

This is some great news for the Dodgers, as the right-handed star is back in the rotation, joining Blake Snell, Tarik Skubal, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Roki Sasaki, and potentially Ohtani in the near future for MLB's best rotation.
