DJ Chetas brings RCB star on stage during iconic song at New Year’s eve party [Watch]

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Venkatesh Iyer attended disc jockey Chetas Shah's New Year's Eve party in Ahmedabad. The popular DJ invited the all-rounder onto the stage for a special segment.

Venkatesh was on the stage for the songs Teri Mitti and Vande Mataram. Notably, the visuals of India's 2025 Champions Trophy campaign played in the background at that time.

Meanwhile, Venkatesh Iyer was in Ahmedabad for Madhya Pradesh's Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 match against Tripura at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ground B, on Wednesday, December 31. Under his captaincy, Madhya Pradesh secured a four-wicket win, thanks to opener Yash Dubey's 105 off 97 balls.

Venkatesh failed to get a big score under his belt, getting dismissed on 16 from nine balls. While he got out cheaply, he did a commendable job with the ball, bagging a four-wicket haul.

Madhya Pradesh are currently unbeaten in the 50-over domestic tournament. With four back-to-back wins and a net run rate of 0.935, they are the table-toppers of Group A.

RCB snapped up Venkatesh Iyer for ₹7 crore at IPL 2026 auction

Venkatesh Iyer is set to ply his trade for a new team in the upcoming 2026 edition of the Indian Premier League. He grabbed headlines after being re-signed by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at a whopping ₹23.75 crore.

He performed underwhelmingly in the season, scoring 142 runs across seven innings at a strike rate of 139.31. The 31-year-old was subsequently released by the three-time champions ahead of the IPL 2026 auction.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) kicked off the bidding war for Venkatesh at the IPL 2026 auction. Gujarat Titans (GT), RCB, and KKR also placed bids for the talented cricketer.

RCB ultimately outbid KKR to rope him in for ₹7 crore. The left-handed batter has 1,468 runs to his name from 56 innings in the IPL. He has an average of 29.95 and a strike rate of 137.32.
