A concerning update has emerged regarding a long-time talent from AEW's women's division. The star in question, Nyla Rose, has been on hiatus for a while now, and it appears that there is no word on whether any change in her status is due anytime soon.

The Native Beast joined up with All Elite Wrestling back in 2019, and competed on most of the company's shows that have been aired so far, including Dynamite, Rampage, Dark, Dark: Elevation and even Collision. She has faced an array of the promotion's top names, including Toni Storm, Mercedes Mone, Riho, Kris Statlander, Athena and more. She has furthermore made appearances on AEW's sister-promotion Ring of Honor, where she unsuccessfully challenged The "Forever Champion" for her ROH Women's Title.

Despite her popularity and consistency, Nyla Rose has not been seen on AEW and ROH programming in some time. When asked about The American Kaiju's absence and possible return in the Tony Khan-owned promotions during a recent Fightful Select QnA, Sean Ross Sapp revealed that neither the 43-year-old star herself, nor his own sources in the company, were aware of why Nyla has not been featured on television since 2024.

Sapp also brought up a related criticism that has been levied against All Elite Wrestling by viewers and analysts alike- regarding the company not utilizing many of its available talent.

“I don’t know that Nyla knows why she hasn’t been on TV for a year. I don’t know why she hasn’t been. People that I talk to in the company don’t know why.... This is one of the biggest criticisms I have of AEW — is that people will just be pulled from TV and just forgotten.” [H/T - Ringside News]

Rose was last seen on All Elite Wrestling TV last year on a November episode of Rampage, where she teamed up with Harley Cameron to battle Mariah May (now WWE's Blake Monroe) and Mina Shirakawa, although she did wrestle a dark match against Jordan Blade a month later at Dynamite: Holiday Bash.

Nyla Rose's latest non-AEW appearances

Not counting her appearances earlier this year at the Jericho Cruise, where she had matches against Lady Frost, Viva Van and Thunder Rosa on three consecutive nights, Nyla Rose has not wrestled a single match under the official AEW-ROH banner so far in 2025. However, the "The Barbie Breaker" has continued to perform on the independents, across promotions such as Pro-Wrestling: EVE, Metroplex Wrestling, SOS Pro Wrestling and more.
