Is LA Knight really injured? Likely truth about his WWE absence

As officially announced on the December 15, edition of WWE RAW, LA Knight is injured and will be out of action indefinitely. The Megastar was destroyed by Bronson Reed and Logan Paul last week on the red brand.

After two Tsunamis in the ring, Reed squashed Knight with another Tsunami on the roof of a car backstage. Knight was then taken away by medics, and WWE announced that the former United States Champion would be away for the time being.

However, fans have been left wondering whether he is injured in real-life or whether it is only kayfabe. As per reports, he is not injured and is taking a break from programming during the holiday season.

Knight has had more matches than any WWE Superstars in 2025 at 65. He is followed closely by Penta at 63, and the Mexican is recovering from a real-life shoulder injury he suffered on RAW during his match with Solo Sikoa.

Given how active Knight has been in the ring, the injury angle could be to give him some well-deserved time off to recover.

WWE RAW commentators provide update on LA Knight

WWE RAW commentators Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett provided an injury update on Knight on the December 15, edition of the show. The commentators wished him a speedy recovery while informing fans that Knight had reportedly suffered a cracked sternum as a result of the attack by Reed.

"Yeah, here's the medical update. LA Knight suffered a number of injuries, the most serious of which was a cracked sternum which is going to put LA Knight on the shelf indefinitely. Knight, we wish you the best, get well soon."

It remains to be seen when Knight will return and whether he will contend for the world title upon his return to television.
