DiJonai Carrington spoke up about her recently ended relationship with fellow WNBA player NaLyssa Smith. Despite breaking up briefly last year, the two have been together for numerous years and have been showing off their romantic relationship on social media.

Now that they have broken up, Carrington declared her relationship with Smith "permanently closed" as she called for social media accounts dedicated to supporting them during the relationship to be terminated.

"Oh & @ any nail*ssa-esque pages , you might as well rebrand or deactivate ts cuz that will NEVER be again. but my sincerest thank you for your love & support during that permanently closed chapter! 🫶🏽 with love, dijonai/management. ☺️💕✨," Carrington said.

The former couple played together at Baylor during their collegiate days, becoming the foundation of their relationship. The two continued their relationship when they went to the WNBA, despite being on different teams.

However, last November, the two unfollowed each other on social media, sparking breakup rumors.

Carrington then confirmed her status in a live video earlier this month.

"I am. Very much so single," Carrington said.

Carrington is coming off a roller coaster 2025 WNBA season, where she played for the Dallas Wings to start the year before being traded to the Minnesota Lynx. She averaged 9.8 points and 4.0 rebounds per game, helping the Lynx reach the top seed in the regular season.

Carrington only played two games in the playoffs as she sprained her ankle during the Lynx' first-round series win against the Golden State Valkyries.

DiJonai Carrington plans to maximize time off to recover from injury

DiJonai Carrington's injury proved to be a bummer for the Minnesota Lynx's title hopes. Now looking ahead, Carrington said she plans to use the time off to recover and venture out to other things.

Carrington pointed out the possibilities of her starting her career in social media and streaming.

“Now I’m thinking about how to maximize this next however long I’m not going to be able to play for," Carrington said in an interview by TMZ last October. "Something on social media, whether it’s streaming, really tapping into that beauty side, YouTube videos, TikTok, I don’t know yet."

She has since been more active on social media and has been constantly streaming on various platforms.

The injury has also put her out from participating in the second season of the Unrivaled league.
