Jaylen Brown has been one of Boston's leading stars alongside Jayson Tatum. The duo has led the team to two NBA Finals and secured the championship in 2024. However, they lost to the Warriors in 2022 a defeat that still haunts Brown.

During a livestream with rapper and YouTuber DDG on Thursday, the Celtics forward admitted he is still salty towards Stephen Curry for denying him a championship during the 2022 NBA Finals.

"They (Warriors) beat us in the Finals," Brown said. "Steph took one of my rings. It's all good, though. I got one."

Continuing to reflect on the loss to the Warriors, Brown expressed that he remains upset about the defeat even now.

"I am still mad about that s*it, but we cool," Brown continued. "We should have won (though)."

The 2022 NBA Finals were a first for Jaylen Brown, as he and Jayson Tatum helped carry the Celtics back to the Finals for the first time in 12 years. After getting past the Nets, Bucks, and Heat, Boston’s run set up a showdown with Stephen Curry and the Warriors.

Boston opened the Finals by stealing Game 1 from Golden State, but suffered a blowout 107-88 loss in Game 2. Back home for Game 3, Boston briefly moved back in front, only for Golden State to seize control and win three straight to close the series in six.

Brown was Boston’s most consistent scorer throughout the Finals, averaging 23.5 ppg. However, Stephen Curry set the tone for the series, pouring in 31.2 ppg, earning Finals MVP honors, and shutting the door on Brown’s first chance at an NBA championship.

Jaylen Brown claims he would defeat Steph Curry in a 1v1 game: "He's too small"

After admitting to holding grudges over his 2022 NBA Finals loss to Steph Curry and the Warriors, Jaylen Brown discussed his chances against Curry in a one-on-one game.

During his livestream with DDG, the Celtics star explained why he would "for sure" win against Curry in a one-on-one game, citing his size as a key advantage.

"Curry one-on-one for sure," Brown said. "It's like weight classes, he's too small. In one-on-one, Curry is not beating me."

Curry, who is listed at 6-foot-2, would be at a size disadvantage against the 6-foot-6 Jaylen Brown. However, given the Warriors star’s efficiency from deep, he would still be able to give the Celtics forward a run for his money.
