A fan tweet calling Nicki Minaj's appearance at AmFest 2025 "embarrassing" went viral on X after several netizens assumed that the tweet was from the rapper's rival, Cardi B. On December 21, 2025, Nicki Minaj appeared as a surprise guest on the final day of Turning Point USA's America Fest 2025, held in the wake of TPUSA co-founder Charlie Kirk's assassination in September.

Minaj joined Erika Kirk, Kirk's widow, for a Q&A panel, where she commended JD Vance and Donald Trump, and spoke up about the alleged persecution of Christians in Nigeria. X user @spin4saint posted a short snippet from the panel with the claim that Minaj was being transphobic, where the rapper is heard saying:

"Be boys, it's okay. Be boys, there's nothing wrong with being a boy. How about that? How powerful is that? How profound is that? Amen, boys will be boys, and there's nothing wrong with that."

X account @IamCARDIl quote-tweeted the clip and called Minaj "embarrassing," further dubbing the Super Bass rapper "MAGA MINAJ." The tweet went viral, gaining 2.7 million views and 82K likes, as many online presumed that the tweet was from Cardi B, who famously has a beef with Minaj.

However, Cardi B did not post the tweet. The account behind the tweet is a fan account, as mentioned on the page's bio. The misconception occurred because both Cardi B and the fan account share the same profile picture and similar handles. However, Cardi B's X handle is @iamcardib, while the handle of the account that posted the tweet is @IamCARDIl.

Nicki Minaj called Trump and Vance role models for young men

Nicki Minaj's appearance at Turning Point USA's AmFest 2025 kicked off with her addressing her X posts about California Governor Gavin Newsom with the organisation's new CEO, Erika Kirk. Kirk asked the rapper to read some of her X posts about the potential presidential candidate, including one post on December 13 that seemingly criticized Newsom's support for transgender kids.

Imagine being the guy running on wanting to see trans kids. Haha. Not even a trans ADULT would run on that. Normal adults wake up & think they want to see HEALTHY, SAFE, HAPPY kids. Not GavThe Gav NotsGavOUTSend in the next guy, I’m bored.

Furthermore, Erika Kirk and Nicki Minaj discussed the current administration led by President Donald Trump, with the rapper saying that she had "utmost respect and admiration" for him. Minaj also said that Trump had given "hope" to people that "there's a chance to beat the bad guys and to win and to do it, with your head held high and your integrity intact."

Nicki Minaj also said that Trump and JD Vance were "powerful men" who had a "very uncanny ability to be someone that you can relate to," adding that they "haven't lost touch of the world."

Nicki Minaj also imparted a message to the young men of America, asking them to look up to Trump and Vance as their role models instead of Newsom, whom she referred to as Newscum.

"Don't be Newscum. Yes. See, there, young men, you have amazing role models like, handsome, dashing president. And you have amazing role models like the assassin JD Vance, our vice president," she said.

She also advocated for the Christians living in Nigeria, addressing the alleged persecution they faced and adding, "We will speak up for Christians wherever they are in this world."

Nicki Minaj has aligned herself with the current administration in recent times, even appearing at the United Nations headquarters in New York City last month to speak about the plight of Christians living in Nigeria. Meanwhile, JD Vance also showed support for Minaj amid her beef with Cardi B via an X post on December 10, posting "Minaj>Cardi."
