A video capturing a post-game moment between Aaron Rodgers and Jordan Love has gone viral online. The two were the centers of much attention during and immediately after Sunday’s NFL game between their respective teams.

For Rodgers, it was an opportunity to show up and show out against his former team, the Green Bay Packers. On the other hand, it was a way for Love to show he is a worthy successor to his former mentor, Rodger.

One of the biggest talking points from the short clip is the fact that the old teammates did not swap jerseys. This has led to speculations by fans, some of whom are suggesting Aaron Rodgers refused a jersey swap with Jordan Love.

The speculations about a possible refusal to swap jerseys were fueled in part by the fact that both quarterbacks had expressed wishes to swap jerseys. Per TMJ4’s Ashley Washburn, Rodgers had said during the week leading up to the game:

“Packers have always been a little weird about swapping (jerseys)—don’t know what the policy is—but if there is one, it would be Jordan Love.”

WFRV Local 5’s Kyle Malzahn also reported Love saying:

“I would love to swap jerseys with him. But who knows? They’re breaking out those throwback jerseys out. We’ll see. I like to hold onto mine, so I’ll see what he wants to do. But I need one—for sure.”

Did Aaron Rodgers refuse jersey swap with Jordan Love?

Jordan Love answered the question about the jersey swap with Aaron Rodgers after the game, when he told reporters:

“Just said good game, keep going for the rest of the season. I want him to stay healthy, and I’ve got a lot of love for him. Very fun to go against him. I told him I needed that jersey, and we’re gonna exchange them at a later time.”

The postgame moment between Rodgers and Love was caught not only on camera but also in audio. The two quarterbacks were mic’d up, and their conversation could be heard in the short video posted by the NFL on social media. From their exchange, Love could be clearly heard saying:

“I need that (jersey) too.”

Rodgers, in turn, responded:

“I’m gonna send it over.”

So, while Aaron Rodgers might not have swapped jerseys with Jordan Love in the full glare of the public, an exchange is expected to happen.

Love was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft to be Rodgers’ successor. Love took over in 2023 after the latter left and has since been the franchise’s primary passer.

Love led the Packers to a 35-25 victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Rodgers on Sunday, throwing for 360 yards and three touchdowns. Rodgers, on the other hand, threw for 219 yards and two touchdowns. The 41-year-old was also sacked three times as the Steelers lost in front of their fans.
