Diamondbacks tabbed as free agent landing spot for .835 OPS All-Star

The Arizona Diamondbacks are in the market for some more offensive firepower this upcoming offseason, and the outfield is one area they're sure to explore.

But with a weaker class of free agents, there is one outfielder who stands out as a potential option who'd make a ton of sense to add.

Recently, the D-Backs were named as a possible landing spot for this veteran All-Star outfielder, as CBS Sports' Mike Axisa linked Arizona to Randy Arozarena, the .835 OPS Seattle Mariners star outfielder.

"He's a thunderous hitter who has shown time and time again that he is unafraid of big moments. He's basically a DH at this point, though, so once the bat begins to slip, there's not much to keep him propped up," Axisa writes. "... Super early possible landing spots: Diamondbacks, Mariners."

The D-Backs adding Arozarena to the lineup would be a high-quality infusion of offensive firepower and personality.

He might cost a lot, but considering the D-Backs could use another outfielder, or a designated hitter long-term, Arozarena would make a lot of sense in the upcoming 2026-2027 free agent period.

Corbin Carroll, Jordan Lawler, Ryan Waldschmidt, and Arozarena would make for quite the outfielder and designated hitter combination.

Arozarena is a three-time All-Star who has been playing some of his best baseball the last two seasons. He has posted 4.6 bWAR this year with 22 homers, a .274 batting average, and an .835 OPS.

Last season he posted 3.9 bWAR with 27 homers, but just a .238 average with a .760 OPS. With an increase in production this season, Arozarena, at 31 years old, has shown he still has it.

The Diamondbacks are one of the early landing spots for Arozarena this upcoming winter, and if they could find a way to land him on a multi-year deal, it'd be a huge addition for the offense in the long-term.
