Gender reveals have found their way more and more into professional sports.
On Saturday, Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Brandon Pfaadt decided to help his brother out with one.
Pfaadt was on the mound in Philadelphia, so there were only so many options. They decided that he'd wear laces to signify the upcoming baby's gender.
The color of the laces? Pink.

— Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) April 11, 2026It's not even the first gender reveal plan as a part of this matchup.
Last year, the Phillies' Trea Turner helped do the reveal of Bryce Harper's baby. Turner handed Harper a blue bat in the dugout to let him know he'd be having a boy.

Now, Pfaadt came through for his brother with a reveal during Saturday afternoon's ballgame.
Pfaadt did give up a couple of early home runs, to Harper and Kyle Schwarber, before settling in on the mound. For superstition reasons, he likely didn't pitch well enough to break out the pink laces again.
But for one afternoon, he let his brother know what baby is on the way. It's a subtle yet special moment for that family.
