The Phoenix Suns were a massive disappointment in the 2024-25 season as they failed to make the playoffs. The Big 3 of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal fizzled out and left fans wondering what the next move will be.
Although Kevin Durant's name circulated at the NBA trade deadline, nothing materialized. Now, the question remains what the Suns roster will look like when the 2025-26 season begins.
Another interesting wrinkle is the future of Devin Booker, who is another player the Suns could move on from if they decide to start things over.
After the season, Suns owner Mat Ishbia talked about that, saying, “We’re very aligned on what we’re going to do. His mission and my mission are very similar. Let’s bring a championship to Phoenix.”
Well, NBA insider Marc Stein gave an update on the PHNX Suns show.
“I think teams still look at Devin Booker not being available,” Stein said. “I think the Suns and Devin Booker have both made it pretty clear they want to carry on together...I think Mat Ishbia has been pretty clear that the Suns do not want to move Devin Booker. But will that ultimately scare teams off? I guess we’ll see.”
Booker has spent his entire career with the Suns after being selected 13th overall in the 2015 NBA Draft, but all signs point to both parties wanting to stay together.
All in all, the Suns have some serious thinking to do this offseason after a frustrating couple of seasons.
