The BIGGEST Celebrity Divorce Settlements

The fire in Dermot Mulroney and Prima Apollinaare's marriage has burned out.

The Chicago Fire star filed for divorce from his wife of 14 years on June 23, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the breakup in court documents obtained by E! News. Mulroney did not list an official date of separation in the filing.

Mulroney, who shares daughters Mabel Mulroney, 17, and Sally Mulroney, 15, with his ex, is seeking joint legal and physical custody of their kids.

And though the paperwork said Mulroney is requesting spousal support from Apollinaare—who was initially named Tharita Cesaroni but legally changed her moniker in 2015—a source close to the pair told E! News that the 61-year-old and his ex were "advised to file this way."

In truth, the insider said of Mulroney and Apollinaare, "No one is asking for anything, and no one is denying anything. They are not arguing over money or the children."

The source added, "They used mediators, not lawyers, as they are friends and this is amicable."

E! News has reached out to Mulroney and Apollinaare's reps for comments but did not receive comment.

Prior to his relationship with Apollinaare, Mulroney was married to actress Catherine Keener from 1990 to 2007. The two are parents to 26-year-old son Clyde Keener Mulroney.

"I’m a pretty easy-going guy," the My Best Friend's Wedding actor told The Hollywood News in 2016, "not so straight and narrow as a parent."

He continued, "I try to keep arts in front of them, whether its music or even just museum trips. I don’t expect anything of them—it’s hard enough for everyone just to get their homework done at night."

While he'll support whatever career path they choose, Mulroney said he'd rather that they not follow his footsteps into acting. As he put it, "We've all certainly seen that being a child actor is unhealthy so, I wouldn’t do that."

Still, he has nothing but admiration for the next generation of actors.

"When I was working with young actors before, I was one of them,” he told KTLA in 2022. "Now, I really have a lot of respect for how hard actors of all ages work, but really the dedication of these young actors."
