The Seattle Seahawks acquired Rashid Shaheed from the New Orleans Saints in exchange for a fourth and fifth-round draft pick just before Tuesday's trade deadline. Shaheed gained a reputation as one of the league's fastest players while he was in New Orleans, and he also has solid returner experience.
Sam Darnold and Jaxon Smith-Njigba are dominating nearly every defense and looking like contenders for the Offensive Player of the Year Award. The Seahawks' attack has been outstanding through nine weeks and the unit gained an additional weapon in Shaheed.
Following the trade, Seattle received a "seal of approval" from a quarterback who previously played with Shaheed on the Saints.

"Just launch it he will go get it," Carr tweeted.Even though they are both no longer with New Orleans, Carr's message showed that he still has respect for Shaheed and his playing style.
Shaheed is in the last year of his contract. He has accumulated 499 receiving yards from 44 receptions and two touchdowns this season.
What does Rashid Shaheed bring to the Seattle Seahawks?
Elite speed is one area the Seattle Seahawks passing offense still needs a boost.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba is on pace to surpass the NFL's single-season receiving yards record, but he is not considered the most explosive pass-catcher. Similarly, Cooper Kupp, who achieved a lot with the Rams, has been largely successful due to his strategic thinking than his lightning quickness.
The addition of Rashid Shaheed gives the team a new dynamic that could give it more unpredictability. He is a former All-Pro punt returner, and the Seahawks could be tougher to play against with a weapon like him in two different areas.
Seattle (6-2) has an MVP-caliber quarterback, the top receiver in the league and a defense that is giveing up less than 19 points per game. The team now has a speedster of a receiver in Shaheed, who could also be a solid a returner at a reasonable cost.
