The action continues in round 16 of the EFL Championship as Derby County play host to Watford at Pride Park on Saturday. The Hornets have failed to win their last 13 away games in the league since the start of March and will be aiming to end this dire run.
Derby County maintained their fine run of results just before the international break when they held on to see out a 2-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on November 8.
The Rams have won five consecutive league games for the first time since 2023, when they picked up six straight wins in League One, a run stretching back to a 1-0 loss against Oxford United on October 18.
This upturn in form has seen Derby County surge into 10th place in the Championship table with 23 points from 15 games, three points and five places above this weekend’s visitors.
Elsewhere, Watford were guilty of a wasteful display in front of goal last time out as they played out a 1-1 draw with Bristol City after fluffing a plethora of clear-cut chances at Vicarage Road.
However, with that result, the Hornets have gone unbeaten in four of their last five home games (4W, 1D), although their form on the road leaves a lot to be desired, as they are without a league win away from home since the start of March.
Watford will be backing themselves to snap their poor run on Saturday as they go up against an opposing side who have lost each of their most recent four meetings, conceding seven goals and scoring twice since a 2-2 draw in April 2015.
