Denver Broncos game-by-game predictions: Team closes the 2025 season strong

4 hours ago 1

Now that we have had a few days to digest the 2025 schedule for the Denver Broncos, it's time to make some predictions.

The Broncos jumped ahead of the schedule that most members of the NFL media had them on last year, qualifying for the playoffs and asserting themselves as a future force in the AFC behind their rookie quarterback, Bo Nix.

The Broncos will need to be better than last season in order to show positive growth. That means getting past the Wild Card round, at least. In a stacked conference, will the team be able to accomplish that?

Looking at the schedule on a game-by-game basis, here is how we see the Broncos' 2025 season going, based on what we know right now.

Denver Broncos 2025 game-by-game predictions

Week 1 vs. Tennessee

The Broncos open the season at home against what was the worst team in the NFL last season, at least in terms of wins and losses. As a result, the Titans had the No. 1 overall pick and selected Miami quarterback Cam Ward. He is projected to make his NFL debut in this game.

A rebuilding team with a young QB against what should be one of the best defenses in the league sounds like a recipe for a Broncos victory.

Prediction: Win, 1-0

Week 2 at Indianapolis

The Broncos get a second straight AFC South opponent, but this one will be on the road. It may be more difficult than many feel it should be, but the Broncos get out of Indy with a win.

Prediction: Win, 2-0

Week 3 at L.A. Chargers

This marks the first divisional game for the Broncos this season and it won't be an easy one. The Chargers beat them twice last season and are a team built similarly to Denver.

It's an early-season matchup where both teams should still be at or close to full strength, but Jim Harbaugh's team pulls out another win over the Broncos.

Prediction: Loss, 2-1

Week 4 vs. Cincinnati

The Broncos return home to face the Bengals on Monday Night Football and this could be one of those wild games like the Monday night game they played against Cleveland last season.

The Bengals beat the Broncos towards the end of the 2024 season and they have enough offense to compete with any team in the league. Their lack of defense will be their downfall in this one as the Broncos win a shootout, 38-35.

Prediction: Win, 3-1

Week 5 at Philadelphia

It's a short week due to the Monday night game and then you have to travel to the home of the defending champs? That won't be an easy task and the Broncos will play like a team that isn't quite up to it.

Prediction: Loss, 3-2

Week 6 at New York Jets (London)

Though this game is in London, it should be one of the more winnable games on this year's schedule. The Jets are rebuilding under new head coach Aaron Glenn and the Broncos should win this one fairly easily.

Prediction: Win, 4-2

Week 7 vs. New York Giants

The Giants are still one of the worst teams in the league and though they hope they have things going in the right direction, they're not close to competing. The biggest question going into this game will be whether or not Russell Wilson gets the chance to play against the Broncos, or if he's been replaced by Jaxson Dart in the starting lineup.

Prediction: Win, 5-2

Week 8 vs. Dallas

There are a lot of predictions out there that have the Cowboys as a top NFC contender this season, but doesn't it feel like that is the case almost every year? They haven't beaten the Broncos since September 1995 and that won't change here.

Prediction: Win, 6-2

Week 9 at Houston

This is a tough one to call as both of these teams are in a similar place in terms of contending in the AFC. This feels like one of those games where the Broncos will have a chance to win and probably should have won looking back on it, but the home team will find a way to steal it from them late.

Prediction: Loss, 6-3

Week 10 vs. Las Vegas

The Broncos had trouble with the Raiders for several years during their slump, but they have turned that corner, at least for now.

Prediction: Win, 7-3

Week 11 vs. Kansas City

This seems like a spot where the Broncos may be a bit overzealous, almost too confident, and the Chiefs will use that championship pedigree to show that some more lessons need to be learned.

Prediction: Loss, 7-4

Week 13 at Washington

This will not be an easy game as it will be against one of the best teams in the NFC. The Broncos will be coming off of their bye week, which will help, but unfortunately, the Commanders will be coming off their bye as well.

Prediction: Loss, 7-5

Week 14 at Las Vegas

This will be the turning point of the season. Following back-to-back losses and feeling like things are starting to slip away, the Broncos will be down in the fourth quarter against the Raiders and Nix will pull it out in the end, creating a wave of momentum that the team will ride into January.

Prediction: Win, 8-5

Week 15 vs. Green Bay

This will be another tough game where the Broncos are pushed against the wall and may even have to overcome a deficit. Green Bay is a good team, but the friendly confines of Empower Field prove to be the difference.

Prediction: Win, 9-5

Week 16 vs. Jacksonville

There isn't much to talk about here. The Jaguars are a bad team and though many expect them to be much better this year under Liam Coen, the Broncos can't overlook them and need to just take care of business at home.

Prediction: Win, 10-5

Week 17 at Kansas City

This is the game where the Broncos announce themselves as a major contender. Remember the lesson that the team needed to learn after the first meeting with the Chiefs? By this point, they have not only learned that lesson, they have perfected a new approach. And they finish what they started at Arrowhead Stadium last season by serving a Christmas night beating to the Chiefs... no blocked field goal this time.

Prediction: Win, 11-5

Week 18 vs. L.A. Chargers

Could it be possible that at 11-5, the Broncos have clinched the AFC West division by this point? It's possible, but with the Chiefs and Chargers both having strong teams, it's not likely. Playoff positioning will still be at stake in this one, which means the starters will have to play. And this time, Sean Payton beats Harbaugh.

Prediction: Win, 12-5

That may be a tad optimistic, but this Broncos team, so long as it can stay healthy, has what could be the league's best defense and a capable offense. This team is ready to make a run and if they aren't Super Bowl contenders this year, they will be firmly in that conversation going into next year.
