Shaquille O'Neal reveals he had to talk to HR for wildest reason

Shaquille O'Neal is known for a lot of things. While he is primarily known as one of the greatest players in NBA history, he is also known for not being afraid to share some controversial opinions. Despite that, O'Neal revealed that there's only been one instance in which his opinions resulted in him getting sent to human resources.

During his 19-year NBA career, O'Neal accomplished pretty much everything one could accomplish in the league. Shaq was a 15-time All-Star who was also a 14-time First Team All-NBA member. He won a Rookie of the Year and MVP award, and he finished his career with four championships.

Now an established member of the media, O'Neal has become known for his humorous style of coverage in the world of basketball. Only one comment has ever gotten him in trouble, though, and he revealed it was because of comments he made on the flat earth conspiracy theory. While O'Neal said he was joking when he believed in the theory, it still resulted in a visit with HR.

“I said that as a joke and the internet went freaking crazy on me,” O’Neal said on "The Big Podcast." “I had a corporation I was working with…when I said that and it went viral, they actually called me in. And I had to talk to the HR department and they were talking about dropping me."

"I said, ‘You can drop me if you want, you’re still gonna have to pay me.’ They were like, ‘Yeah, we got a lot of hate mail.’ That’s when I knew the world was really shifting, especially listening to the comments.”

Thankfully for O'Neal, it seems like this crisis was averted, but he quickly learned that even a simple joke could get him in trouble. However, it doesn't look like that will prevent him from sharing his mind after his latest comments on the Blue Origin space flight.
