Denis Puric says Johan Ghazali needs a good slice of humble pie: "That kid's got a lot of growing up to do"

Denis Puric has no patience for Johan Ghazali's antics, and he's not holding back his thoughts.

The 40-year-old squares off against former three-division K-1 champion Takeru Segawa in a flyweight kickboxing bout at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri inside Tokyo's Ariake Arena on Sunday, Nov. 16.

In an interview with the South China Morning Post (SCMP), 'The Bosnian Menace' was asked about rising Malaysian-American star Johan Ghazali, and the veteran striker unleashed an expletive-laden critique of the 18-year-old Muay Thai sensation.

"That kid's got a lot of growing up to do. He needs to shut the f*ck up, humble himself, and train harder," Denis Puric said.

The Team CSK representative's harsh assessment isn't new. Puric and Ghazali have been trading barbs for the past year or so, with both men holding nothing back when asked about one another.

'Jojo' has become one of ONE Championship's brightest young stars since his explosive promotional debut, captivating audiences with devastating finishing power that includes a 16-second knockout that remains one of the fastest finishes in promotional history.

Most recently, the Rentap Muay Thai Gym and Superbon Training Camp product secured a TKO of Moroccan slugger Zakaria El Jamari at ONE Fight Night 35 last month.

Denis Puric confident all he needs is one "nice shot" to rattle Takeru

During a separate interview with ONE Championship, meanwhile, Denis Puric seemed rather confident that his menacing knockout power will be his trump card against Takeru at ONE 173 in Tokyo, Japan.

"I just need to land a nice shot, and I think he's going to be wobbled, at least to the point where I can finish the fight," the Bosnian-Canadian martial artist shared. "He's not that kind of fighter who goes in there and protects himself. He is quite open. I see openings, man. I see openings, and I see myself landing a left hook and putting him down."
