Deion Sanders leaks girlfriend Karrueche Tran details and what he 'loves most'

Deion Sanders is opening up about his girlfriend, actress Karrueche Tran, and what he values most in their relationship — a rare public glimpse into a romance the couple has largely kept private.

Speaking with PEOPLE’s Janine Rubenstein on Friday, Feb. 6, at the SiriusXM set on Media Row in San Francisco, Deion Sanders said the quality he loves most about Karrueche Tran is her “honesty of heart and soul.”

“There are so many other desirable things,” Sanders said, “but that’s what speaks to me the most.”

Sanders, 58, and Tran, 37, first sparked dating rumors in July 2025, when Tran appeared by his side in a video series documenting Sanders’ treatment for bladder cancer. Since then, the couple has rarely discussed their relationship publicly, opting instead to keep their personal lives out of the spotlight.

That discretion made Sanders’ comments notable, particularly as he reflected on Tran’s support during his cancer treatments.

“She was there,” Sanders said. “She held me down. She kept me upright. She kept me straight. Kept me positive. I’m already positive. But she did the doggone thing.”

Sanders has been open about his health journey, though he rejected the idea that documenting it made him vulnerable.

“God ain’t built me to hide nothing,” Sanders said. “God built me to disclose everything so I could help others.”

Sanders comes into his fourth season at Colorado after posting the worst record of his tenure in Boulder. But with Tran in his corner and eyes on the future, the Buffaloes are in good hands.
