The Denver Broncos currently employ one of the hottest names in the coaching game.
Davis Webb, a player-turned-coordinator, has gained plenty of attention as of late. While the Broncos could be offering a bump to Webb soon, as they made some changes to their staff, Webb is still in the midst of a battle for a head coach position and several offensive coordinator jobs.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Webb had three interview requests for high-level offensive coordinator jobs this week. They came in addition to interviews with the Buffalo Bills and the Las Vegas Raiders head coaching jobs.
The former opportunity is no longer an option for Webb, as the Bills announced that they have filled their head coaching position with Joe Brady on Tuesday. As for the Raiders job, that is still very much in play as of now.
The Vacant OC Positions
Two offensive coordinator vacancies are within the NFC East (Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants). The other is the Baltimore Ravens.
Eagles
The Eagles' job seemed to be one of the more attractive positions in the league. When healthy, the offensive line is top-tier. Saquon Barkley was a 2K rusher just last year. AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith are a dynamic receiving duo, while Jalen Hurts is the most recent Super Bowl MVP.
Yet, the Eagles can’t find the right fit just yet. They have considered pretty much every name available. Webb is no exception at this point.
Ravens
Following the John Harbaugh era, the Ravens are filling out their new staff with Webb seemingly in mind. The Ravens replaced Harbaugh with Jesse Minter, who comes from the Los Angeles Chargers. Now, they need a strong offensive mind to complement Minter’s vision. Working with a league MVP in Lamar Jackson should be an interesting proposition.
Giants
Webb knows the Giants well. During his short playing career, he had two stints with the Giants. Now, the Giants are planning for a major turnaround with Harbaugh in the building. The assumption is that Todd Monken has a strong chance of landing the job. However, he’s still in the running for the Cleveland Browns’ head coaching position. If he doesn’t get it, he’s likely NY-bound. If he does get it, Harbaugh just might make a strong push at Webb.
