Before they attained superstar status in the major leagues, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Juan Soto were exciting young talents working their way up the ranks.

As Soto revealed via a clip MLB posted to X on Thursday, he first met Vladdy as a teenager while the pair attended tryouts together, and the infielder's quality was already clear for all to see.

"We were like fourteen, fifteen [when I first met Vladdy]. We were doing tryouts together. Vladdy was putting on a show. I remember one time, we went to the Nationals' academy, Vladdy hit for like 30 minutes straight.

He was hitting balls 500 feet, all over the field. We're just watching balls going out on the field. Boom! Boom! Boom! We were impressed," Soto said.

Davis Schneider's dad, Steve, shared his reaction to Soto's comments on X.

"Great story…" Steve Schneider posted.

Of course, Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s talents will be something Steve Schneider and other Blue Jays fans are well-acquainted with at this point.

Vladdy played an extremely influential role as his team enjoyed a historic season, winning the AL East for the first time since 2015 and clinching a World Series berth for the first time since 1993.
