Packers offensive tackle David Bakhtiari took an unexpected jab at Aaron Rodgers while celebrating the marriage of Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love and his fiancée, Ronika Stone, over the weekend.
Bakhtiari, who became close with Rodgers while protecting him for 10 seasons on the Packers offensive line, said he wasn’t invited to the Steelers quarterback’s recent wedding with his mystery bride.
“Love is love. Congrats to the Loves,” Bakhtiari wrote on X, including a clip of Love and Stone dancing at their wedding reception. “Just happy at least one of my quarterbacks invited me to their wedding.”
Bakhtiari, who included a bulging eyes emoji, added that same message on his Instagram Story.
The three-time Pro Bowler also responded to a tweet that said, “So happy you and [wife] Frankie [Bakhtiari] were there, hope to see some pictures!! That other one probably had a ‘commitment ceremony’ to a ghost he saw in the dark,” and seemingly referred to Rodgers and his wife.
Bakhtiari replied with a few crying-laughing emojis.
It raised some eyebrows because Rodgers was close with Bakhtiari and his family off the field.
He also didn’t get off to a hot start with Love when the Packers selected his then-eventual replacement in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
After the Packers traded Rodgers to the Jets in 2023, Bakhtiari said, “The chapter is over on this one, but this friendship is a lifetime. You’ve been so instrumental in my life and I just wanna say thank you. And I love you brother.”
It’s unclear if the former teammates had a falling out.
Last year, they were photographed together at the Kentucky Derby in Louisville with their former Packers teammates, Davante Adams, AJ Hawk and Jimmy Graham.
Rodgers has yet to publicly address Bakhtiari’s comments.
Earlier this month, the former league MVP told reporters that he’s been married “a couple months” when asked about the black ring he had been wearing in the weeks prior.
During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Tuesday, Rodgers explained that the person he married will remain private amid speculation about his wife’s identity.
“My private life is my private life and it’s going to stay that way, and I’m with somebody who wants to be private, and if and when she wants to be out and there’s a picture, she’ll choose that,” Rodgers said.
He first revealed he had a new girlfriend during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” last December.
Rodgers passed his physical Saturday and signed officially with the Steelers on a one-year deal that could be worth up to $19.5 million.
