Baseball is just so darn cool.
You only need to dig a little deeper into Daulton Varsho's two-run home run for the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 1 of the World Series to find yet another reason that that's true.
Here's the basic fact: Varsho's homer, which tied the Dodgers at 2-2, was the first Blue Jays home run in a World Series since 1993.
That's when the Blue Jays last played in the Fall Classic, and they won it, with Joe Carter's historic home run the last one before 32 years later Varsho left the yard to dead center off Blake Snell.
So yeah, that's pretty awesome. But that's just getting started.

It's also important to understand who Daulton is named after.
Varsho's namesake is Darren Daulton, who was an MLB catcher.
Darren Daulton was the catcher when Carter hit his epic World Series home run off the Phillies.
And so here Daulton Varsho was, named after Darren Daulton, hitting the Blue Jays' first World Series home run since Carter hit his right in front of Darren Daulton. Shoutout to MLB Network's Sarah Langs for this awesome insight.
MORE: Blue Jays have 3 players who are sons of former MLB stars
Varsho is named after Daulton because his father, Gary Varsho, spent time with the catcher during Gary's seven-year MLB career.
And all this baseball history now links itself.
What a beautiful game.
