The Indianapolis Colts made one of the moves of the season on Tuesday after they reportedly traded for New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner for two first-round picks and AD Mitchell.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the news a few hours before the trade deadline on Nov. 4. The two-time Pro Bowler further bolsters their secondary, making a strong case for a Super Bowl run.

Fans reacted to the Colts pulling off a marquee trade ahead of the trade deadline with one fan claiming Gardner's signing could see Colts quarterback Daniel Jones play in the Super Bowl before reigning MVP Josh Allen.

Gardner, who was selected with the fourth pick in the 2022 NFL draft, signed a four-year, $120.4 million contract extension in July. However, the Jets were expected to be sellers ahead of the deadline after a 1-7 start to the season.

While Sauce Gardner's playoff chances were non-existent wth the Jets this season, he will be under pressure to deliver for his new team as the Colts are expected to make a deep postseason run this year.

Following the move, the 25-year-old shared a heartfelt message for his former team.

"New York you have been real 💚," Gardner wrote on X after the trade.

Gardner was named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2022 and earned two Pro Bowl nods with the Jets. He established himself as the franchise cornerstone after his performances.
