Haley Jones can't catch a break.
The former Stanford superstar just put up eight points and seven rebounds for the Dallas Wings in 21 minutes off the bench. But on Sunday, the Wings released Jones as they return two other players to the active roster.
It's hard to believe Jones hasn't yet broken through at the professional level.
She was the sixth overall pick in 2023 after being a do-everything great for the Cardinal.
But Jones has now already played for the Dream, Mercury and Wings.
She has averaged 3.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists so far in her WNBA career.
Jones' outside shooting has been her downfall, at least on paper.
But considering that Jones can do pretty much everything else on the basketball court, it seems like she should keep getting chances.
Maybe one of these days, Jones will break through.
