This West Group B NBA Emirates Cup matchup pits two of the most underperforming teams this season. Memphis started its in-tournament campaign with a loss to the LA Lakers last week, while this will be Dallas’ first game.

The Mavs are on a three-game losing streak and have struggled the entire season. They most recently suffered a narrow 101-99 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday. Rookie Cooper Flagg led the team with 20 points and nine rebounds, while P.J. Washington had 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Dallas is without Anthony Davis who is nursing a calf injury. He last played Oct. 29 and has missed the past three games. The team is also without Kyrie Irving (knee), Dereck Lively II (knee) and Dante Exum (knee).

The Grizzlies haven’t been great either and are on a four-game losing streak. They are coming off of a 124-109 loss to the Houston Rockets on Wednesday. Cam Spencer led the team in scoring off the bench with 19 points, while Ja Morant had 17 points.

Memphis seems to be going through some internal turmoil after Morant was suspended for a game for conduct detrimental to the team.

The Grizzlies are dealing with a slew of injuries. Zach Edey (ankle), Brandon Clarke (knee), Ty Jerome (calf) and Scotty Pippen Jr. (left big toe) are out.
