There was some speculation that the Philadelphia Eagles would lose veteran tight end Dallas Goedert in free agency over the offseason.
Ultimately though, Goedert ended up re-upping with the Eagles for another season.
In his first media availability signing re-signing with the Eagles, Goedert detailed the decision. While he did have other suitors, none of the options were more appealing for Goedert than continuing his career in Philadelphia.
"I was able to test for agency a little bit. Had opportunities to go elsewhere. Nothing was a better opportunity than I thought I could have here," Goedert said.
"Being able to play in the same place for nine years is special. It would have had to be something really drastic to have me try to sign somewhere else."
