The Dallas Cowboys are banking on the improvements of both Dak Prescott and George Pickens to carry them back towards Super Bowl contention. Coach Brian Schottenheimer clearly has a plan for these two to have huge numbers and toy with high-caliber defenses. While the Xs and Os determine a huge part of this quarterback-to-wide-receiver connection's success, chemistry still sits above all other factors. This is where the Cowboys' star quarterback unveiled what he expected from the rising offensive weapon.
Prescott gets real on what he expects from Pickens to bring Cowboys to Super Bowl contention
The Cowboys' offense was one of the best in the league during the 2025 NFL season. Through George Pickens' leaps in production and Dak Prescott's return to form, Coach Brian Schottenheimer saw his squad produce 27.7 points per game. This was good for seventh among all NFL offenses.
Now, the next step is to prove that this was not a fluke season and that the Cowboys could ride this momentum to Super Bowl contention for 2026. Prescott knows this, and he expects great things from Pickens so that they can carry out this mission on the floor, via Joseph Hoyt of the Dallas Morning News.
"Every ball gets completed. Every ball that I throw gets completed. That’s my standard... Whether it’s deep balls, short balls, whatever it may be, just taking pride and continuing to push the envelope,” Prescott said. “He’s a hell of a talent," the Cowboys star quarterback said.
Despite having one of the premier air assaults in 2025, the Cowboys were not able to win as much. Coach Schottenheimer saw his squad win only seven games due to defensive lapses and an inability to get crucial downs against top-end talent. It was all punctuated with a rough 34-17 loss to the New York Giants, who were dead last in the NFC East.
Prescott and Pickens have what it takes to carry over their momentum in production for the 2026 NFL season. Will this, along with a revamped defensive unit, be the key for Coach Schottenheimer to get back into Super Bowl contention?
