"I should have never second guessed this game being rigged for the browns….. Browns win Steelers suck and Chris Boswell got the call from Vegas to blow the game. Make it more obvious @NFL @steelers …… Garbage….." a fan posted. "Another fairly easy Chris Boswell miss. The NFL is rigged," another fan added.

More fans joined in to take digs at the Steelers kicker.

"Chris Boswell is washed up. Time to get rid of him.," one fan wrote. "Death, Taxes, and Chris Boswell absolutely shitting his pants in Cleveland, Ohio. Absurdly predictable," a fan commented. "Chris Boswell future Burger King manager," another fan said.

Boswell converted both of his second-quarter field-goal attempts but failed to deliver a third time, later in the game. The Steelers could have secured their playoff spot with a win at Huntington Bank Field. However, a loss sends them to a virtual elimination game against the Baltimore Ravens next week.

Did Chris Boswell miss the Pittsburgh Steelers' postseason ticket?

The Pittsburgh Steelers entered Week 17 with only a win away from a playoff berth. With the Cleveland Browns sitting at 3-12, it seemed that it would be a cakewalk for Aaron Rodgers' team. However, things didn't go as planned.

The Browns took an early lead with a 50-yard field goal. Shedeur Sanders threw his first and only touchdown of the game. The Steelers fought back with a FG of their own just seconds into the second quarter and scored another in the dying moments of the first half.

It was a quiet third quarter as neither of the teams disturbed the scoreboard. The Browns added another converted field goal to extend their lead to seven points. Except for Chris Boswell's missed field goal, the Steelers never came close to a scoring drive.

The Steelers sit atop the AFC North with a 9-6 record. But they will go up against Lamar Jackson and Co. in the regular season finale. The winner will book their spot in the playoffs. Pittsburgh hosts the Ravens at Acrisure Stadium on Jan. 4.
