A former WWE Champion discussed his AEW run and losing to Bryan Danielson. Rusev wrestled as Miro in the Jacksonville-based promotion. He left the company in February 2025 and has recently been seen causing chaos in WWE. His recent win-loss record comparison between AEW and WWE has been a major point of discussion on social media.

Rumors say the former United States Champion refused to lose in AEW and was therefore kept off TV for many months before his release. However, his recent WWE record says otherwise. He has lost matches to Dominik, Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, and many other stars. These statistics deny the aforementioned rumors.

While speaking on Shak Wrestling, Rusev broke the silence on the allegations. The Redeemer claimed that if he didn't want to put anyone over in AEW, it made no sense for him to lose to stars like Bryan Danielson and Sammy Guevara during his run.

"Clearly, when I lost to Sammy Guevara the title, that didn’t make any sense. When I lost to Daniel Bryan right after that, that didn’t make any sense. When I lost to whoever, like – so, let the people go back and review whatever I’ve done and we’ll talk about that," he said. [H/T - ITR Wrestling]

WWE's Axiom talks about Bryan Danielson's heartbreaking loss

At WrestleMania 28, Bryan Danielson lost to Sheamus in 18 seconds. The infamous match has been talked about sporadically.

While speaking on No-Contest Wrestling, WWE star Axiom said he was devastated to see his idol lose at the Showcase of the Immortals.

I've I follow that man from a very little independent company to WrestleMania and he lost to Sheamus in what was it? 18 seconds. That broke my heart," Axiom when asked about if he had a sour grape moment as a fan, he said.

It will be interesting to see when Bryan Danielson returns to the ring, as he is semi-retired.
