A backstage report on a SmackDown star suggests that her WWE career might be over due to a serious injury she suffered in September this year. As per Wrestling Observer Live, Piper Niven's neck injury has quite possibly ended her career.

Niven hasn't wrestled since the 22nd August episode of SmackDown, where she secured a monumental win over Charlotte Flair. However, as fate would have it, just a few days later, it was reported that she had suffered a serious neck injury.

The 34-year-old star has been gone from TV since then, with no update on when she could be back in WWE. Now, Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live is reporting that Niven's injury was so serious that her career might be in jeopardy now and that it increasingly looks like she might never step inside the ring again.

“I mean, there’s been a lot of talk that this one’s a career ender,” Alvarez said. “It is her neck, and it’s the same deal, you know, it was wear and tear, and took a bump, and that was it”. (H/T - WrestlingNews)

Chelsea Green says she will never replace Piper Niven in WWE

Before her devastating injury, Niven was aligned with Chelsea Green as part of her Green Regime, also featuring Alba Fyre. After Piper Niven was pulled from TV, Green began to look for her replacements by issuing invitations on social media. However, in an interview, the SmackDown star clarified that she was merely doing so to keep the story going and that Niven was irreplaceable.

“Piper is so valuable to us. We’re not just replacing her, but the show goes on. This is Hollywood, baby! And I love to start a storyline on social media and plant the seed, because then the writers can gauge reactions and maybe bring it into their creative meetings,” she said.

Until WWE or Niven herself issues any statement on her future, fans will keep hoping that she makes a speedy recovery and returns to TV down the line.
