Cristiano Ronaldo's fiancée, Georgina Rodriguez, is not letting internet trolls dim her shine. Rodriguez went online to share how she felt about the pressure women have on their body image.
Rodriguez posted several photos in her Instagram carousel on Tuesday, Aug. 4, including herself in a white bikini, a black two-piece swimsuit, relaxing on a chair outside, and enjoying a bite to eat on a private plane.
“My body will change, just as all women’s bodies do. And I hope it continues to do so for many years, because that will mean I am still living,” Rodríguez wrote, according to a translation from Spanish to English.
She went on to share how she wants to be an example to her children as she and Ronaldo instill important values in them.
"I am a mother of 6 wonderful children, 3 are girls who will one day be great women. And if there's anything I wish to teach you — alongside Cris, who I am deeply proud of for the values he imparts as a father and as a man — it's that the value of a person can never depend on a physicist or on the opinion of strangers," she continued. "That little dose of positive psychology that I try to give them every day also helps me keep my mind on this world of so much fantasy."
Rodriguez says that she confided in Ronaldo about the comments people on the internet have made about her in swimsuits. The football icon shared with her:
"You don’t live by your image. You live by what you are. A perfect woman. Beautiful, with a body, mother, good person, successful and living life with love. What the hell else do you want? It's normal for them to envy you. And we talked about many more things," she wrote.
Rodriguez went on to share that sometimes you need someone to tell you what really matters. She added that she works out and goes to the gym to feel happy and that she has a passion for it. She also praised what she loves about her body through every season of life.
"I love my curves. I love the freedom to live in the body I choose," she continued. "In the body that holds me, that has allowed me to embrace, create life, fall and rise again. A body deserving of respect, love and gratitude in all its versions."
She concluded her message, writing, "To me, true success has never been fitting into a standard that nobody knows who invented. Real success is living in peace. Surround myself with the people I love. Enjoy my family and friends. Taking care of my health. Laugh. Learn. Live."
