Cowboys owner Jerry Jones booed at World Cup match between Spain and France

Jerry Jones made sure the 2026 FIFA World Cup would play a handful of games at the stadium they call "Jerry World."

Known as AT&T Stadium regularly, but just as Dallas Stadium for the World Cup, it hosted its final game on Tuesday when Spain beat France 2-0 in a semifinal match to advance to Sunday's championship game in New Jersey.

Jones was in attendance, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys watching the action on the pitch. Spain dominated most of the match and held French star Kylian Mbappe in check.

And when Jones was shown on the video board midway through the match, he heard plenty of boos:

The timing was incredibly ironic, because the Fox broadcast in the United States happened to be showing FIFA President Gianni Infantino when the booing audio came through, but the announcers quickly pointed out that what the fans in the stadium were seeing was Jones.

It's safe to say that not a lot of the France and Spain fans in attendance are fans of the Cowboys.

Or maybe they are and they just aren't happy with the lack of playoff appearances, and certainly deep playoff runs, in the last three decades.

Jones is one of the NFL's most powerful men, but also a polarizing figure because it's not clear if he's helped the Cowboys be the best team they can be on the field in recent years.

Regardless, he's in charge. He got the World Cup to Dallas. And he got booed while it was there.
