Whether continuing to elevate their linebacking core, or finding a star-studded edge rusher, the Dallas Cowboys’ post-NFL Draft moves should be centered on their defense.
Luckily for the five-time Super Bowl champions, there are plenty of assets they can target before the 2026-27 campaign begins. According to CBS Sports’ Zachary Pereles, a former Buffalo Bills star edge rusher who recorded a career-best 12.5 sacks in 2017-18, should be one of them
“The Cowboys want to win right now, and Bosa could help,” Pereles wrote Wednesday.
“Currently, Dallas is depending on Rashan Gary, who really struggled last year, rookie Malachi Lawrence, and second-year player Donovan Ezeiruaku, who had just two sacks as a rookie, as their primary pass rushers. Bosa had five sacks, five forced fumbles, and nine TFL last year in Buffalo.”
If there’s one thing Bosa has mastered over the years, it’s getting into the backfield and making opposing quarterbacks make errant decisions in the pocket. The former No. 3 overall pick has logged double-digit sacks four times in his career and forced at least one fumble on eight occasions.
Although Bosa’s 2025-26 campaign with the Bills wasn’t the best representation of his pass-rushing chops, he’s still among the top free edge rushers on the market. If the Cowboys want to shore up that area of the defense, they should look no further than Bosa this offseason.
