Cowboys expressing interest in former Giants, Eagles starting cornerback, per report

The Dallas Cowboys are looking to shore up their secondary before the 2026-27 season gets underway.

According to NFL insider Jordan Shultz, the Cowboys have expressed interest in a former Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Giants starting cornerback who’s appeared in 111 games in his career.

“Sources: The Cowboys are hosting veteran CB Adoree’ Jackson on a free agent visit today,” Shultz reported on X/Twitter Tuesday.

“Jackson was with the Eagles last year, where he started 10 games — recording 55 tackles, 11 Pass break ups, and 1 interception. His DBs coach there was Christian Parker, who is now the Cowboys' DC.”

It would be challenging to argue that Jackson deserves another opportunity with the Eagles. The former first round pick was constantly picked up by opposing quarterbacks due to his poor footwork, undisciplined coverage approach and lackluster ball-hunting chops.

Jackson was exposed during the Eagles’ Week 1 contest against the Dallas Cowboys, as two-time All-Pro wide receiver CeeDee Lamb had a field day while matching up against Jackson.

Although the Cowboys failed to secure an opening-season road victory against their NFC East rival, Lamb had a field day against Jackson,  finishing the contest with seven targets for 110 yards in a losing effort. Things didn’t get much better for the USC product, as he finished the year as one of the cornerbacks in the league according to Pro Football Focus (53.6 PFF grade, which ranked toward the bottom).

Still, that hasn’t stopped Dallas from giving him a look before determining if he would be a good fit with their organization.
