Cowboys could make trade for $107M star, but only on one condition

With the Dallas Cowboys ready to start the season, how they play over the next couple of weeks will ultimately signal what the organization plans to do at the trade deadline. 

The Cowboys are one of those teams that could win a Super Bowl if everything goes as planned, though it will likely require tough decisions over the next couple of months. Some of those decisions will ultimately come down to what the Cowboys want to do on the trade market. Among the many options for the organization to pursue, Maxx Crosby is at the top of that list.

One writer believes Crosby to Dallas feels like something that will ultimately happen by the deadline, and his reasoning makes a lot of sense.

“It feels like there’s a magnet slowly pulling Maxx Crosby from Las Vegas to Dallas,” Trotta wrote in a Sept. 8 article. “The Cowboys’ interest in the five-time Pro Bowler is well-documented after they finished as runners-up in the Crosby sweepstakes back in March, before the Ravens backed out of their agreement.

“Jones stoked the flames again at training camp, saying that he never lost interest in Crosby, and Dallas’ newfound $33 million gives them just enough cap room to facilitate a trade and absorb the edge rusher’s $30 million salary.”

As I said above, a lot of this ultimately comes down to how the Cowboys play before the deadline. 

If Dallas is in a position to win the NFC East, making a trade of this magnitude would be a wise decision. If not, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Cowboys go in a different direction.
