Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb disrespected in latest WR rankings?

If you asked most Dallas Cowboys fans, they’d probably tell you that CeeDee Lamb is one of the very best wide receivers in the NFL today. After all, Justin Jefferson, Tyreek Hill, and Davante Adams are the only players with more receiving yards than Lamb since 2020. Yet, Hill didn’t even reach the 1,000-yard barrier last season, but Lamb still did.

In other words, the numbers say Lamb has been a top-five receiver from the moment he entered the league as the 17th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Yet, when Pro Football Focus’ Trevor Sikkema recently revealed his 2025 wide receiver rankings, Lamb was left outside of the top five.

So, where did PFF rank Lamb? According to Sikkema, Lamb is the NFL’s sixth-best receiver heading into 2025. The only players ranked ahead of him were Philadelphia’s A.J. Brown, Jefferson, Ja’Marr Chase, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Puka Nacua.

“Lamb’s production dipped in 2024 with Dak Prescott sidelined, but over the past three seasons, he ranks fifth among wide receivers in WAR (1.46) and trails only Ja’Marr Chase in total yards after the catch”, Sikkema wrote.

Yet, much of the potential disrespect toward Lamb perhaps has to do with Dak Prescott’s injury last season, which surely impacted the four-time Pro Bowler’s production. However, Lamb still recorded a respectable 1,194 yards in 2024, despite Prescott only making eight starts.

Now with Prescott expected to be fully healthy by Week 1, another strong season by Lamb could help place him back near the top of next year’s receiver rankings. Still, sixth? That feels a bit low for someone who hasn’t had fewer than 1,000 yards in a single year since his rookie season.
