Costco has launched an IVF program, opening the door for members to pursue their dreams of starting a family — at heavily discounted prices that the mega chain is known for.
The popular retailer has partnered with health care companies Sesame and IVI RMA North America to offer members access to fertility drugs at reduced prices.
“Our partnership with Sesame and IVI RMA reflects our commitment to transparent and affordable solutions that reduce barriers, are more accessible, and more affordable for our members,” said Richard Stephens, Senior Vice President of Pharmacy at Costco.
“By combining transparent pricing with coordinated care, we’re removing the barriers that have historically kept quality fertility treatment out of reach for too many families.”
Fertility medications often come with a hefty price tag, but Costco claims its program could slash those costs by as much as 80%, bringing treatment within reach for many more families.
People who accept the monthly agreement will be eligible for immediate access to Sesame’s fertility care coordination, diagnostic tests, and a path to specialized treatment, according to a press release.
If specialty care is recommended, patients are referred directly to IVI RMA, which offers negotiated advantages for Costco members.
The program is now available nationwide.
