For the third time before the start of the second round, a Corona Panther's name was called in the 2025 MLB Draft.

This time it was infielder Brady Ebel, who was selected 32nd overall by the Milwaukee Brewers. Ebel was signed to play for LSU if he opted for the college route.

The Brewers obtained the 32nd overall selection as a post-1st round compensatory pick for shortstop Willy Adames, who rejected their qualifying offer to sign with the San Francisco Giants in free agency.

Ebel, 17, is a shortstop by trade who shifted over to third base this spring at Corona playing next to Billy Carlson. At 6-3, 195 with arm strength as his highest-graded attribute, Ebel has been looked at as a prospective third baseman and second baseman in addition to shortstop at the professional level.

His father, Dino Ebel, is the Los Angeles Dodgers' current third base coach and a former minor leaguer. He was drafted in the 27th round of the 1986 MLB Draft by the Philadelphia Phillies, but elected to attend college, and went on to win the NCAA Division II championship with Florida Southern in 1988.

Ebel started his prep career at Etiwanda before transferring to national contender Corona halfway through high school. He improved in every hitting metric from his junior season to his senior one, hitting .341 with two homers, 17 RBI, a team-high 27 walks, .504 OBP, .988 OPS, and 27 runs scored. The Panthers won the CIF-SS Division 1 title in 2024 and made the finals this spring, going 58-6 between Ebel's two seasons with the team.

MLB.com gave Ebel the following MLB pipeline scouting grades on the 20-to-80 scale:

Hit: 50
Power: 45
Run: 45
Arm: 60
Field: 50
Overall: 50
