On Sunday, the New York Yankees drafted Kaeden Kent.
And on Thursday, they got him signed to his full slot-value contract with a signing bonus of $744,000, according to MLB.com's Jim Callis.
He's the son of Jeff Kent, the former San Francisco Giants MVP of the National League in 2000.
Kaeden Kent is a shortstop from Texas A&M.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound junior started every game at shortstop for the Aggies this season.
He's a strong prospect, having batted .279 with 13 doubles, 13 homers and 49 RBI. He had 19 multi-hit games this spring. He also hit a walk-off grand slam against South Carolina, and he had a big postseason run in 2024.

Callis writes that Kent profiles as an "offensive 2B," which is exactly what his dad was.
"Could be an average hitter with power to match, high baseball IQ," Callis adds.
There was little doubt the Yankees would sign Kent once they took him in the third round, but it's good to get him officially on board and sent out to a minor league team to start playing professional baseball.
