The Seattle Seahawks advanced to their fourth Super Bowl appearance in team history Sunday, defeating the Los Angeles Rams by four points.
Although it was Sam Darnold who overcame his struggles against the Rams (six interceptions in two games this season) with 346 yards and three touchdowns, it was Cooper Kupp who was able to get revenge on his former team.
Kupp scored Seattle's final touchdown in the third quarter, extending the lead to 31-20. Considering Puka Nacua made it 31-27, Kupp's touchdown ended up being the winning score.
For the game, including the touchdown, Kupp finished with four catches for 36 yards, fourth on the team behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba, running back Kenneth Walker and speedster Rashid Shaheed.
Following the game, more news surfaced about Kupp's exit from the Rams. Despite wanting to stay with the team and being willing to take a pay cut in order to do so, the Rams tried to trade Kupp and ultimately released him after they could not find a trade partner.
However, it gets worse. Kupp revealed that Los Angeles urged him to retire and when he did not, the Rams warned other clubs about signing him per The Athletic.
Nevertheless, Kupp and the Seahawks prevailed, with Kupp posting "IT WAS WRITTEN." on his social media after the victory.
Having won a a Triple Crown and a Super Bowl title with Los Angeles previously, Kupp will now have the opportunity to win a championship with his second NFC West team, as the Seahawks hope to get revenge on the New England Patriots.
