Cooper Flagg is becoming more of a matchup nightmare with his new listed height

Cooper Flagg had a fantastic rookie season that earned him Rookie of the Year honors over his former college roommate, Kon Knueppel. Now entering his second season with the Dallas Mavericks, Flagg is set to elevate his game further.

Considering Flagg is only 19, that leaves room for him to grow physically as well. In fact, he has grown taller in the past few months, as he is now listed at 6'10" without shoes. That is something that could make him an even tougher player to defend because of his improved physical traits.

Flagg has cemented himself as one of the brightest talents in the league. That is to be expected from a number one overall pick that was being hyped up as a generational talent, even before he entered college basketball with Duke University.

He was such a lauded prospect because he combined athleticism and natural talent. His size also played a factor because he has pulled off some amazing moves in the past year, and he has an NBA-ready body despite a big chunk of his first year being when he was only an 18-year-old.

Considering that Flagg is still growing, it should not be surprising that he got taller. He entered the league as a 6'9" player, but now, he is set to play at around 6'11" with shoes on.

"I'm 6'10", I got my physical yesterday, and I'm 6'10" with no shoes. Yeah, I was like 6'9" last year, so definitely taller. With no shoes, maybe I'm 6'11," Flagg said during the Mavericks' media day for the 2026-27 season.

This is a big deal for the performances on the court because even if it is a small increase in height, that will be a big deal. He will be an even tougher player to defend because he has a better perspective of the court and the basket. Moving forward, this could be one of the main factors to him improving as a player because his height has allowed him to make moves he has not done before.
