Congratulations are in order for wrestling legends Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy on achieving another major accolade. The Hardys have had an incredible 2025.
The veteran performers are likely to end the year as the TNA World Tag Team Champions and the HOG Tag Team Champions. The experienced duo also won the NXT Tag Team Championship earlier this year in October, before losing the gold back to DarkState after 18 days.
As a result of their impressive year inside the squared circle, Pro Wrestling Illustrated announced Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy as the number one duo on the 2025 PWI Tag Team 100 list.
AEW's Hurt Syndicate takes the second spot, followed by World Wonder Ring Stardom's Wing☆Gori in third. WWE teams breaching the top ten are The Street Profits at fifth, Fraxiom at sixth, and the duo of Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss at number nine.
Matt Hardy opens up about potentially having a world championship run
During a recent edition of his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, a fan asked the 51-year-old if he would win another singles world championship.
Matt Hardy claimed that he would go after a singles world championship only in case his brother, Jeff Hardy, got hurt. He added that although The Charismatic Enigma suffered a minor injury, he was getting better. Matt stated that he would not oppose having a TNA World Championship run if Jeff was forced out of action.
"I think a lot of that would depend on probably Jeff's status. Uh, the only thing I think would make me go in in that direction at all is if Jeff was hurt or injured. Jeff had had a little injury that's kind of been bugging him, but he's getting a little better now. But, say if something happened and Jeff was hurting on his own, like, I wouldn't be opposed, or if he had to be out for an extended amount of time, I wouldn't be opposed to having a TNA run for a world championship, you know, and possibly trying to do what I could to pitch in and contribute and help with the company if need be. So I don't know, but once again, I would never say never," Hardy said.Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy put forth some amazing performances this year. It will be intriguing to see how they fare moving into 2026.
